In addition to the inherent benefits of a renewable fuel, using vegetable oil significantly reduces engine exhaust particulate emissions over using petroleum-based diesel fuels. Burning vegetable oil does not create new carbon pollution because the CO2 produced was taken out of the air by the plants from which the oil is made of. Vegetable oil as a fuel does not contribute to 'Acid Rain', because it is sulfur free and "non-toxic", if spilled is quickly 'bio-degradable' back to the earth in which it was grown.
